Pavement - General
Reported Saturday, 9 March 2024 at 2:21 pm, 78 Esplanade, Sumner, Christchurch 8081, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Accessibility and endangerment issue. The sand has blown up over the esplanade, particularly between Hardwick & Menzies. For wheelchair users this is almost impossible to path through. For ambulatory but unstable people it creates a fall hazard and for cyclists the risk of crashing is high. Appreciate sand is part & parcel of the beach but this has gotten considerably worse and is not being managed.
