The reporter’s words
Hi, There is a new layer of soil and gravel on the riverside cycle/walkway. No traffic management has been in place. The new material has been battered on the edges to sit on top of the existing gravel but only for a shirt distance. I'm familiar with this kind of material used on building sites and this doesn't seem to be the right kind of surface for this purpose. It doesn't match the gravel used on the rest of the walkway. It looks like a contractor may have dumped it here? The area is just north of pages road bridge and south of Rawson Street.
