Trees - General
Reported Wednesday, 23 October 2024 at 3:59 pm, 1 Wherstead Road, Cashmere, Christchurch 8022, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
A number of wooden blocks have been screwed to the trunk of a street tree located outside 1 Wherstead Road, Cashmere. The blocks form a ladder which allows a person to climb the tree. This poses a health and safety hazard as climbing the street tree could result in a person being injured in a fall. The blocks being fixed to the tree may also be hazardous to the street tree’s health. The wood blocks should be removed before any further damage or accidents occur.
