The reporter’s words

The issue here is twofold. One rubbish being dumped and two, grass up to a metre high. Not yet a fire danger but will be. I had to complain last summer about the long, dry grass in order to get the land owner to cut it. Actually a third issue is you can’t walk on the grass verge because the grass is too high so have to walk on road. The land owner (M McDermott) also owns land on other side of road and the grass there is rather long too. Ironically land owner has his own house and land at the end of the road (so 100-200m) away but keeps the grass verge mown short year round. This has been a constant problem with him not mowing his verge on Hodgens Road and consequently a lot of rubbish gets dumped in the grass.
