Trip hazard, near miss injury. A infrastructure cabinet protrudes from the footpath, causing a trip hazard& chance ofinjury. Several statutes & regulations are relevant: 1 Health &Safety at Work Act 2015 s36 2 Local Government Act 2002 s334 3 Resource Management Act 1991 s9 4 Occupiers’ Liability Act 1962 5 Building Act 2004 s17 6 Civil Liability-An injured party may bring a claim under common law negligence if the responsible entity failed to take reasonable steps to prevent foreseeable harm.
