Facility - General Request
Reported Tuesday, 21 January 2025 at 7:40 am, Fendalton Library Jeffreys Road, Fendalton, Christchurch, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Hello, the bike rack here is a 1970s version which allows bikes to be held up by the front wheel & locked only by a longer cable lock. Today's recommended bicycle locking procedure for bikes is to use a D lock around the frame of the bike & a secure immovable object. Cable locks are good for secondary security i.e front wheel but not secure enough for the whole bike. Can this be replaced by a more study rack like shown please? Thank you and have a good week.
