The reporter’s words

Purau beach is a no vehicle beach. There is a sign that advises the public of this however it is hardly visible due to the over grown vegetation. Today a vehicle DMR813, Silver Toyota Landcruiser and trailer were parked on the far east side for most of the day on the beach. This stops other members of the public from enjoying the area and erodes the seashore. Could you please contact the owner and kindly remind them that this is a no parking area. Could you also look at putting up new signs to advise the public of parking areas. On another note your two dog notices advise the public of different times that contradict when the public are allowed to use the beach for dogs. Can this also be amended. Today there were several dogs on the beach and horses when the public are trying to use the beach with their families. This is a busy time of year for the area and residents want the public to enjoy a safe and healthy environment. Purau Residents Group.
