Road Signage
Reported Tuesday, 18 February 2025 at 11:29 am, 652B Halswell Junction Road, Hornby South, Christchurch 8042, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Seymour Street extension shows on the NSLR as having a 50kmh speed limit. Signage and road markings indicate a limit of 30kmh. The size and font does not appear consistent with official speed signs casting doubt on its legitimacy. Worse, as drivers approach Halswell Junction Road (a 70kmh zone) the last sign they are faced with is 30. This could lead to big issues should a driver turn into traffic with a 40kmh difference in perceived limits. Constable JMZ307, CHCH Road Policing team.
