The reporter’s words

Your guys have recently cut down a tree on the boulevard after it fell across my fence in last Wednesday night’s storm. Can I please request that you do not replace it for two reasons: First, the branches are heading towards my foundations, and have already cracked the public footpath next to the tree. I imagine there will be a team repairing this and other footpaths disrupted by these badly chosen trees. The second reason is that this tree has large flat leaves. During autumn, it will take very few of these flat leaves spread out to block a drain and cause a blockage. I have already been compelled to make repairs caused by multiple blockages in my spouting. Because the council has chosen not to bring out their gutter vacuum truck as often as in the past, we are at the mercy these large, flat leaves in our gutters. Is it any wonder that there are so many flooding events when it rains during or after autumn. Regular cleaning of the gutters before the rain arrives would certainly cut down on call outs for council staff. But I digress. If you do not replace the tree that fell, then I will no longer have leaves blocking by gutters, and I won’t have to keep sweeping leaves out of my garage and off my drive. Thanks Brian
