The reporter’s words

Graham here from Charlton Hurrell Drainage. graham@chdrainage.co.nz ph 0223592571 Hi there. I was called into 5 Paulus Tce by the owners Request to investigate what was suspected of being a blocked sewer at 5 Paulus Tce. Found a lot of water flowing down the bank above the house. I don't believe the liquid to be sewerage. Checked leakage in lane hill above 5 Paulus coming through the asphalt. See the photo of wet area. The open stormwater drain adjacent is (I understand) a CCC owned asset. Completed a CCTV inspection of the sewer which confirmed it was not the issue. Suspected the issue was a leaking watermain Arranged from Leak Detection to attend and attempt to pin point the issue. Leak detection found multiple leaks as per their attached sketch - see 2nd photo. In addition to the issues at 5 Paulus I was called to 3 Paulus for issues with saturation. They are below the leak and below 5 Paulus. Same issue affecting both these properties. Main issue identified is a number of water leaks - both public and private - in the property and land above Paulus Tce - specifically between 18-42 Whareora Tce. The leaking water is running through the open drain, and leaking out and through the land of other sections below. I believe that erosion of soils is already well advance and potentially under-runners have been created that could be affecting stability. We need assistance from CCC in identifying and eliminating the water leaks - in addition the integrity of the open drain is in question as it appears that it could be leaking allowing water out. I would be happy to meet on site and request urgent attention to prevent further land damage. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards Graham Boyd
