Roads - General
Reported Tuesday, 29 April 2025 at 7:50 pm, 1 Matai St East, Canterbury, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Kia ora, I sent a message maybe a month ago about this intersection crossing Deans Ave into Hagley Park, which you called me about to describe. This is a similar situation I was explaining where the cars may be parked across the bike lane, despite having a red light, while the cyclists have green. Other times, the gap between the 2 cars is smaller and it’s quite difficult for cyclists going in both directions to pass. It’s unsafe as sometimes the cars can move forward while cyclists cross.
