The reporter’s words

Families dropping off and picking up kids at Aidanfield Christian School are slowly destroying berms. Everyday during term cars drive up onto the berms near the school to park and pick up their children. Over time this destroys the berm by killing the grass of and damaging the soil. The berm in front of the school is a terrible mess and essentially destroyed. The berm out the front of my house (37 Aidanfield Drive) looks terrible and is deteriorating because I'm unable to stop people driving into it and parking everyday. If we've had rain, it cuts up the soil and leaves holes. I've asked the school twice to please stop this and even had a meeting with the principal but they seem unable or unwilling to. I'm left with bearing the cost to repair or leave it as an unsightly mess. The school seems to not be very Christian in caring how their parking impacts in those who live near the school. The problem could be easily solved if people just parked on the road, next to the curb but they simply don't. Could the council please enforce whatever conditions the school has around parking and ensure they follow it and make the school fix the damage their families' cars have left so that residents don't have to fix what the school has caused and bear those costs. Thanks.
