Pavement - General
Reported Sunday, 13 July 2025 at 6:50 pm, 111D Riccarton Road, Riccarton, Christchurch 8041, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The pedestrian lights across Riccarton Road between Rimu and Rotherham Streets 'forget' after you have pushed the beg button. I was crossing southbound on Friday and I had to push the button four times (!) to get the lights to register that I was waiting. Each time I pushed the button, the red man turned on, and then just turned off a few seconds later without triggering the crossing signal. This happens at a lot of lights around the city, and it's really annoying & disrespectful to pedestrians!
