Roads - General
Reported Saturday, 9 August 2025 at 10:19 am, 409 Wigram Rd, Canterbury, Christchurch 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
This brand new lake which was called Wigram Road should be Wigram Lake. Both sides of the road are flooded and the road has only been open to traffic for two days. There was only 14mm rain over the previous 24 hours. This is total ineptitude on the part of the contractor and needs to be remediated asap to avoid aqua planing accident. Pedestrians are also at risk of getting completely saturated when cars speed past through the floodwater.
