Roading/Streets
Reported Friday, 10 May 2019 at 4:22 pm, 45, Matipo Street, Riccarton, 8041, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Please can the vegetation by the Wharenui Swim Club car park entrance be lowered to the height of the white fencing to enable better visibility for cars exiting into Matipo street. On Monday this week I was exiting this car park and while proceeding extremely slowly an electric scooter collided with the side/front of my car. Neither of us was able to see the other due to the dense and tall nature of the vegetation at this exit. The scooter rider tried to stop but the distance was too small. Both of us were very shaken. As this car park is used heavily by the public using the Wharenui facilities and also by those at Wharenui school this is a serious safety issue. Regards Tonya Frew
