The reporter’s words

Trees are harmed if the ground around their roots is sprayed for weeds because herbicides can be absorbed by the root system. This can happen even if the spray isn't directed at the tree, as roots can extend far beyond the trunk. Certain herbicides can cause significant damage or even death to a tree. What product has been used? Please consider alternative methods like hand-pulling weeds. Please let me know what has been sprayed on these tree roots.
