Trees - General
Reported Monday, 20 October 2025 at 7:53 pm, 159 Marine Parade, New Brighton, Christchurch 8083, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
This lady and sometimes a man have been taking pinecones from the trees along Marine Parade over the past few weeks. Sometimes in the middle of the night 10.30pm-12am, sometimes 6am in the morning and today from 5.30 at least... it is now almost 8pm. They have also blocked my driveway with their van at times when collecting and always leave a mess of pine needles and small cones over the path. Is this legal? My neighbors and I have lots of pictures.
