Overgrown Vegetation
Reported Thursday, 23 October 2025 at 8:11 am, 4 Freeville Pl, Canterbury, Christchurch 8083, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The rain gardens and plantings located on the council-managed sections of Freeville Place and Sandy Avenue are severely overgrown, smothering the native, intentionally planted trees and shrubs. The plants are also spilling into the path and road, affecting drainage and accessibility. Are these beds due for maintenance anytime soon? I would be happy to organise a working bee amongst residents but the waste would need disposal and it is council land.
