The reporter’s words
This is the second family of ducklings this spring I’ve seen that have ended up in this “drain” within this wetland (Quaifes Rd end in the middle section). The water moves quite fast towards this drain and the ducklings then drop 30+ cm to the water level below, unable to get back out. It has a locked cover so no way for passers-by to potentially help. Can something please be done to make this more safe for young ducklings. Thank you.
