Traffic Signals
Reported Friday, 28 November 2025 at 5:10 pm, 380R Waterloo Road, Islington, Christchurch 8042, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
When using these traffic lights and there is a train, the left turning traffic get trapped by the lights. There is a left turn lane, but no left turn greem arrow. The left turning traffic presently waits for the train without getting a green light despite not needing to cross the railway and no other traffic crossing the path they would take for the entire passing of the train. The solution is the install of a left turn arrow, allowing traffic to parallel the railway while the train passes.
