Water General
Reported Sunday, 7 December 2025 at 1:36 pm, Canterbury, Christchurch 8081, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The stream / ditch bank just above our house is being used by young miners. I met 2 young lads about 10 years of age with toolbox today and explained to them that the bank is getting eroded away when it rains heavily and they were very understanding but said lots more youngsters were doing same bank. The bank below our house has concrete sides but above it does not. Please can some work be done before next heavy rainfall and maybe notices put up to stop further erosion by warning the miners off.
