The reporter’s words

The pedestrian crossing light needs to be lengthened here. I witnessed an elderly person, pulling a small wheeled trolley (across Colombo, towards the Countdown) RUSHING, with difficulty, to cross before the light changed. It was distressing to see so I noted that she made it with less than one second to spare. This is not ok. Especially with a retirement village very nearby, let’s make this intersection and the supermarket more safe and accessible for those with mobility difficulties.
