Roads - General
Reported Tuesday, 16 December 2025 at 9:14 pm, 40 Major Aitken Drive, Cashmere, Christchurch 8022, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Cars frequently parking near blind corner, taking up much of the road. Last night a truck coming down the hill crossed well over the centre line and collided with my elderly mother's car as she drove slowly up the hill. Mum saw it coming and pulled as far to the left as she could, but the truck still hit her. Terrifying. Please could we have some yellow lines or speed reduction here? The road is not wide enough to be safe if cars park there. Police report number 251216/5844
