Flooding
Reported Sunday, 18 January 2026 at 11:45 am, 117 Western Valley Road, Little River 7591, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The river bank on the edge of my property has been eroding to the point 3 meters of bank has gone on the top corner. Our plantings to hold the bank are gone, and some land under the fence has gone. A large birch that holds the bank is now having its roots washed away. I am very worried as it is near a house. The flood pain across the river is littered with large branches from a collapsed willow, and blackberry is building up again. This forces water back over when it rains and the river rises.
