The reporter’s words
the traffic sign is wrong - the arrow is pointing cars turning from Wairakei Road into the opposite (right) lane but the lane for those cars is actually to the left side of the median strip, as usual - so there's a serious risk of a car turning into the right wrong-direction lane and crashing into cars coming the other way (with no cones creating any lane there).
