The reporter’s words
On the corner of the Esplanade and Menzies St in Sumner part of the bed of Agapanthus was squashed flat by the big white sewer vacuum trucks parking on them several times in the first two weeks of May. I can appreciate thT this may have been convenient for them. My concern is that damage may never been repaired. All of the borders on this intersection suffer from neglect. While wood chips were spread recently i have never seen anyone in recent years replacing dead plants or pruning overgrown shrubs . The use of contractors has proved to be hopeless as they dont provide the level of attention needed to keep the beds looking reasonable. The situation is the same at the intersection of Menzies St and Nayland St.
