Traffic Signals urgent safety issue
Reported Wednesday, 11 February 2026 at 9:46 am, 286 Cranford St, Canterbury, Christchurch 8052, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The pedestrian crossing signal is not working, it goes red when pressed and then times out before stopping the traffic and turning green to cross. Sometimes this will happen up to 6 times before it works and you can cross. It is only when crossing from the Cranford oak motel side heading to the GJ Gardner side of Cranford street. It’s a very busy road and lots of children crossing to day cares and schools.
