Roads - General
Reported Wednesday, 11 February 2026 at 3:11 pm, 22 Leitch Street, Somerfield, Christchurch 8024, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The poor quality & structure of Leitch Street is a long term issue & it has never been properly dealt with over the last 30yrs. The potholes continue to appear & have to be fixed yearly. The street is completely bald with only tar over it. It is a complete nightmare on hot summer days & residents & dogs are unsafe to walk on it, let alone the constant damage it must be doing to our car tires! Please redo our street for once & for all, properly with an asphalt mix & get rid of the high camber.
