Fallen Tree
Reported Thursday, 12 February 2026 at 5:43 pm, 223A Hoon Hay Road, Hoon Hay, Christchurch 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Centennial Park: half of a very large willow tree fell over about 22 Jan, after moderate rainfall and low winds. The remaining half of the tree needs urgent removal. It's a serious safety issue, could fall at any time, and anyone under it could be hurt or killed. 2 or 3 nice totara on other side of the river need to be protected during removal, they will get badly damaged if the remaining part of the willow falls on them.
