Flooding
Reported Wednesday, 25 February 2026 at 7:23 am, 297–327 Charteris Bay Rd, Canterbury, Governors Bay 8971, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The culvert of the Waiake Stream is severely blocked. This stream broke its banks during the weather bomb of 16 February and severely flooded our section at 353 Charteris Bay Road. Whilst the council cleared some of the debris following, a significant amount of debris is severely blocking it again potentially causing further flooding should we incur further adverse weather.
