Water General
Reported Saturday, 28 February 2026 at 3:11 pm, 4 Cemetery Rd, Canterbury, French Farm 7582, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
We are currently excavating for the silt fence so that we can put a new road crossing in and have found that the Council water pipe is only 50mm deep. We had expected it to be the standard 600mm deep. 50mm deep does not provide the cover required for the pipe not to freeze in the winter or for the construction of the approved vehicle crossing. Please rectify. Construction of the vehicle crossing is commencing next week - Monday 2 March
