Water Pollution - Sediment
Reported Wednesday, 4 March 2026 at 11:01 am, 6A Dudley Street, Richmond, Christchurch 8013, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Construction site ground/site water is being pumped directly into street stormwater. Water contains sediment. Stormwater connects directly to adjacent creeks. The very minimal attempts and filtering are wholly inadequate. This is second time this has been witnessed. First time discussed with contractor who claimed to be unaware of sediment control plan necessity.
