The reporter’s words

I am concerned that Kinsella Reserve in Aidanfield has no footpath access from Kinsella Crescent. The path from the reserve, which has a popular children’s playground, goes straight out onto the road. There is no path opposite to get to the footpath on the other side of the street, and there is no footpath on the reserve side of the street. This is very dangerous for small children on tricycles/bikes/scooters and for mothers pushing prams or buggies as they have to ride or walk on the actual road until they get to a driveway which will take them up to the footpath. To make it worse this is on a bend in the road so there is less visibility when crossing to the reserve. This seems like crazy street planning to me and I urge the Council to do something about it to make access to the reserve safer.
