Damaged Road
Reported Friday, 27 March 2026 at 7:34 pm, 50 Marine Drive, Diamond Harbour 8971, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The contractors replacing the water mains are using a 13 tonne excavator to excavate parts of the new mains trench in the road when rock breaking is required. When this machine is used it's sinking into the road damaging it in the track lines. The sunken in road profile is visible in line beneath the excavator bucket in the photo. You would expect them to replace the damaged road proile as they went along especially as the have the equipment there and asphalt contractors already on site.
