Reported Wednesday, 15 April 2026 at 10:45 am, 213 Marine Parade, New Brighton, Christchurch 8061, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
the lights of the pier onramps are switched off making a terrible safety trip hazard down the steps and a very unsafe (hoodlum drunks) area going up the wheelchair access side in pitch darkness. it's happened before when contractors switched the wrong switch or CCC tried to save costs. please can the pier be turned red for Anzac Day Eve too.
