Roads - General
Reported Friday, 1 May 2026 at 3:22 pm, 501 Madras St, Canterbury, Christchurch 8014, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Concerned about the number of Heavy Vehicles using Madras Street. At regular times of the day I see and feel (shaking) heavy vehicles HPMV waste transfer trucks and trailers travelling at excess speed and laden with heavy weight. My understanding is that HPMV vehicles are restricted to certain routes and Madras Street is not one of these. I am assuming they are enroute with rubbish to North Canterbury.
