Trees - General
Reported Wednesday, 24 June 2026 at 3:59 pm, 30 Rapaki Rd, Canterbury, Christchurch 8022, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Kia ora The large eucalyptus on Council road is hazardous and needs to be removed and replaced with native bush along the bank. It has started Sudden Limb Drop (SLD) dropping a large limb on a windless night several months ago. Fortunately nobody was injured and no powerlines or property damaged apart from our hedge. The tree would also create a ‘torch’ effect in a fire situation spreading fire across the road and up and down the hill affecting a significant number of nearby houses. Thank you.
