Flooding
Reported Wednesday, 15 July 2026 at 5:53 pm, 5 Hamish Pl, Canterbury, Christchurch 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
The bank at this locale continues to erode, more land has collapsed into the stream this week. Council has previously attended this site following earlier bank collapse. Erosion is ongoing along multiple sections, with the stream progressively undercutting the banks and causing land to slump into the water. Given that property boundaries are only around 5m from the stream in places, residents are becoming increasingly concerned about stability of the stream bank. Could Council please assess?
