The reporter’s words

You have "upgraded" this junction (between selwyn and brougham) recently and removed all provision for cyclists from selwyn street. Where there was 2 car lanes and a bike lane there are now 3 narrow car lanes and bikes have to squeeze through. If you are trying to fit through the small gaps on a bike and the lights change it is very dangerous and bloody scary! This is a very popular route for bikes as it links straight up with hagley park, I cycle through it every day and regularly sit at the lights with 4 or 5 other bikes. Whether or not it is on the 'city cycle plan' some provision for bikes should be made at all junctions, especially ones that bikes use. If you could let me know how you plan to remediate the situation that would be great. Kind regards, Ed Hill
