The reporter’s words
Recently the lights have been changed at the junction of Blenheim and Matipo streets to allow right turning phases for both directions of Matipo st. Great improvement! But while doing this, they have unnecessarily played with the right turn from Blenheim Road (heading east) to Matipo St. and made matters worse. Previously the situation was: 1. Right green 2. Right red, when Blenheim Rd straight traffic starts 3. Right red goes off, to allow turn when there is a gap in traffic. Now, the situation is: 1. Right green 2. Right red, which remains ON all the time till the sequence comes back to Right green. This change is causing unnecessary delays for the right turning traffic. What’s more, this location is INCONSISTENT with other intersections along Blenheim Rd - the right red goes off at other intersections. I know this Intersection will be “under observation” after the change. Please revert the right turn from Blenheim as it was. Hundreds of users will thank you!
