The reporter’s words

The Village Green in Cashmere is an iconic reserve on a busy city route on Dyers Pass Road. Some years ago now after much public consultation a garden and play area was established at the top of the Green. Native planting took place. It has recently been neglected. The seedlings from the deciduous trees have taken over the tussock beds on the corner and in the play area as well. Generally the whole area is looking rough and neglected, whereas the flower beds outside the church are regularly attended to. Please could the area be scheduled for maintenance and restoration. Thank you.
