Fallen Tree
Reported Tuesday, 18 August 2026 at 2:22 pm, 17–19 Lester Ln, Canterbury, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
NZBlood wishes to raise a concern regarding a large gum tree located on Lester Lane. During today’s high winds a branch fell and struck a staff members vehicle. Given the size of the tree and it’s proximity to the road and pedestrian areas, we are concerned about the he ongoing safety risk to road users and pedestrians. We request that CCC investigate whether the tree poses a public safety risk and if appropriate, require the property owner to obtain a professional arborist assessment.
