Pavement - Damaged
Reported Sunday, 23 August 2026 at 3:09 pm, 85 Metehau St, Canterbury, Christchurch 8083, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
This is an area which the council has previously repaired which has since cracked again due to an existing tree root pushing up the plastic drain pipe to the street. The previous repair was 600x1500mm. The original tree root was not detected during this repair. I discovered it while excavating the berm to remove these roots. The new cracking extends the full width of the path (1500mm) with cracks up to 9mm wide. The crack area has pushed the asphalt up approximately 30mm. Please advise remedial
