The reporter’s words
This section of the path is now flooded, as it was for a few months last year. It seems that a previously dug drain that takes the ponded water into the Otukaikino stream backwater is now overgrown and blocked. See the second photograph. Maybe the simple solution is to redig that drain. Thanks
