Facility - General Request
Reported Saturday, 12 September 2026 at 7:11 am, Canterbury, Christchurch 8022, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
This gate was wide open, but is meant to be closed at all times. The chain holding the gate has been intentionally broken. It is currently holding on by the very edge of its hook but will not hold. The sign says lambing is currently in progress. If the case is not fixed, there is potential that livestock will escape. It is my understanding that council won the land and a farmer leases it. It would be helpful to contact the farmer to repair the gate and keep his livestock secure.
