Traffic Signals
Reported Sunday, 13 September 2026 at 10:58 am, Halswell Rd near Tankerville Rd, Hillmorton, Christchurch 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Activation of traffic light for pedestrians is very slow. I've been standing with my son in the wind and the rain for at least 3 minutes before we got a green light. I've also noticed it being slow at other times when there was either very little traffic or the road was congested and cars couldn't move fast anyway. Pedestrians crossing the road should get more priority as this is also a busy intersection for pupils going to school.
