Roading/Streets
Reported Friday, 29 November 2019 at 7:53 am, Waterloo Road, Islington, 8042, Canterbury.
The reporter’s words
Eastbound on Waterloo rd. Left turn into pound rd red light comes on at start of green sequence even with no pedestrian or bike lights activated. Because it’s a single lane for left and straight through traffic, holds up entire queue, or people choose to run red light because they are becoming used to this behaviour. It’s also a very short sequence for Waterloo rd (which this unnecessary red doesn’t help) and in morning peak can result in several cycles to get through eastbound Waterloo, even though minimal traffic is travelling through pound rd
