Animal - Deceased
Reported Thursday, 8 October 2026 at 7:18 pm, Canterbury, Christchurch 8025, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
There is what appears to be an old cattle/cow lower jaw with teeth lying in the grassed walkway behind the house 51 Somerville Crescent, Aidanfield, alongside the Christchurch Southern Motorway. We believe it is from cattle, although we are unsure exactly what animal it came from or how it came to be there. There is no livestock kept in this immediate residential area, which is why we found the discovery unusual. We don’t know how long it has been there or how it got there.
