Hazard, vehicle
Reported Friday, 23 October 2026 at 3:16 pm, 224 Taylors Mistake Rd, Canterbury, Christchurch 8081, New Zealand.
The reporter’s words
Issue Potential road safety risk plus emergency vehicle access risk Taylor’s Mistake beach has a paddock attached to the regular car park which completely fills on hot days It is also the helicopter landing site in emergency. However the paddock now has a padlock on the access gate. Recent hot weather meant that parking on the remaining accessible areas and the road resulted in traffic hazards with creative parking and blocked access ways. Can the padlock be removed please
