The reporter’s words

There has been spraying by the person or entity who/which owns the property and driveway next door (which we understand is the Council). The grapefruit tree which was on our side of the fence has been killed. As it was a mature tree and produced a prolific crop of fruit we are gutted to say the least. We would like recompense for the loss of our mature tree and fruit. We think $100 is a reasonable amount for this loss. On another matter the drain which runs beside our property and the adjoining property which is now taking a large increased water flow from a new subdivision on Westmorland in one section is in the process of collapsing. Please note another section of the drain was repaired approx two years ago. I feel now is the time to repair this part of the drain before the increased water flow during the winter.
